The first Middle States Men and Women’s Interdistrict team competition was held at Bloomsburg State College in August of 1975. The competition was designed to increase Interdistrict competition thereby enabling the men’s and women’s ranking committees to better place the top Middle States players. The Senior Men’s event was added in 1976, Senior Women’s followed in 1980 along with Men’s 35 in 1982, Women’s 35 in 1989, Men’s 45 in 1984, Women's 45 in 1989, Men’s and Women’s 55 in 1990, and Men’s and Women’s 65 in 1999. Women’s 70 were added in 2005.
